Ragging is strictly banned in S.L.E.S. Institutions. If anybody is found indulging in such kind of activities, strict action will be taken irrespective of the extent of the act. Ragging is banned by the Supreme Court of India. In order to prevent such kind of activity in campus, an anti-ragging committee has been formed and is operational even before the start of First Year classes by the Director/Principal.
Say No To Ragging
Ragging is neither a means of familiarization, nor an introduction with freshers, but a form of psychopathic behavior. Ragging is a violation of Human Rights and respect for humanitarian values. It is a heinous crime, heavily punishable under the law, and can spoil your career forever.
Punishments for Those Found Guilty
Any student or group of students found guilty of ragging inside or outside the campus shall be liable to one or more of the following punishments:
- Debarring from appearing in any sessional test or University Examination.
- Suspension from attending classes and academic privileges.
- Withdrawing scholarships and other institutional benefits.
- Suspension or expulsion from the college for a specified period.
Functions of the Cell
- To create awareness among students with respect to the ill effects of ragging and necessary disciplinary rules of the college and hostel.
- To address any ragging issues immediately and take corrective actions as recommended by the committee.
- To ensure constant vigilance with respect to ragging and student discipline.
Committee Responsibilities
- The Principal acts as the Chairman, raising awareness during the first year induction and orientation programs.
- Members counsel victims of ragging and guide offenders about the severe consequences of the offense.
- Regular rounds are conducted by the anti-ragging squad across campus and hostels.
