Course Overview
S.L.E.S. Institutions conducts General Nursing and Midwifery Course, of three years duration. It is approved by KNC & INC, New Delhi, Affiliated to KSDNEB, Bangalore and Recognized by Government of Karnataka.
The program is structured to provide students with a strong foundation in biological and behavioral sciences, coupled with advanced nursing practices. Training is conducted in well-equipped laboratories and at our own 100-bed Vikram Multispeciality Hospital and other top government healthcare institutions, offering rich clinical experience from the very first year.
Clinical Postings at Vikram Hospital
Students of S.L.E.S. Institutions undergo rigorous practical training at our own Vikram Multispeciality Hospital (a 100-bed multispeciality facility in Chintamani). Under the direct supervision of experienced doctors and senior nursing officers, students rotate through General Medicine, General Surgery, Pediatrics, ICU, and Operation Theatres, getting invaluable real-world patient care experience starting from their first year.
Advanced Practical Laboratories
To complement clinical postings, our campus features state-of-the-art laboratories including the Nursing Foundation Lab, Pediatric Lab, Anatomy & Physiology Lab, Nutrition Lab, and Computer Center. These facilities are equipped with modern simulation mannequins and specialized tools, allowing students to practice and master clinical procedures in a safe, controlled environment before working with patients.

Educational Objectives & Outcomes
Our program is geared towards developing high-caliber professionals. Upon successful completion of this course, students are trained and expected to:
- Have the aptitude, knowledge and skill necessary for assessing nursing needs of the individuals throughout the life-cycle, families and communities.
- Apply relevant knowledge from biological and behavioural sciences in planning and carrying out safe nursing care activities.
- Co-operate with other members of the health team in the hospital or in the community in prevention of disease, promotion of health, restoration of health and rehabilitation.
- Impart health knowledge to individuals and groups through health education.
- Demonstrate skill in the use of problem solving methods in nursing practice.
- Demonstrate ability to supervise and guide auxiliary personnel who are part of the nursing team.
- Demonstrate understanding of and commitment to professional behaviour.
- Carry out the above in the true spirit of service to fellowmen and be committed to the welfare of our country.
Admissions & Eligibility
Eligibility Criteria
Pass in HSC / PUC / 10+2 with minimum 40% aggregate marks in any stream (Science, Commerce, or Arts). Age must be between 17 and 35 years.
Required Documents for Admission
Candidates must submit the following original certificates along with three sets of attested photocopies at the time of admission:
- SSLC / 10th Standard Marks Card
- PUC / 10+2 / 12th Standard Marks Card
- Transfer Certificate (TC)
- Migration Certificate (Non-Karnataka candidates)
- Conduct & Character Certificate
- Aadhar Card Photocopy
